Samsara Means War is an electronic music and djing project founded by Joaquim Giannotti in late winter 2010 and based in Genova (Ita). Taking inspirations from the tension among Nature and contemporary society, the need of meaning in a relativized world and the lack of a persistent truth, the project explores and create soundscapes and patterns with the aim to propose temporary and contingent glimpse of Beauty and sense, breaking down for a moment the every-day mechanical life.
About djing, Samsara Means War characterizes his sets by a critical-intelligent approach to non- radio friendly genres, unveiling hidden substances and essences and, at the same time, bringing a danceable spirit to the mix. Taking influence from the swing of 2-step and down-tempo dubstep, with an echo of contemporary UK house. Warped R&B infused vocals often feature in his paths, adding a haunting element to the shuffling patterns. Samsara Means War sets' sound as much at home on a sweltering dance floor as they do on headphones in the sunset-light of the evening. The project is currently oriented towards post-dubstep and future music.
